From single, standard and triple rooms to the Junior Suite and Suite Lungau to the spacious Family Suite - there is a suitable domicile with a high level of living comfort for all travellers. Bathrooms with shower, bathtub and WC (also separate), hairdryer, radio and telephone are just as much part of the equipment as the free W-Lan connection. And if the weather doesn't cooperate, a large 42-inch flat-screen TV in HD quality provides mega entertainment.
Wellness fun and culinary delights
Holidays should be a time to really pamper yourself. This credo is consistently put into practice by the host family Doppler at the Landhotel Stofflerwirt.
After a holiday excursion such as hiking, biking or winter skiing and snowboarding adventures, the circulation, muscles and fasciae are first extensively pampered and made fit in the hotel's own wellness facility. The sauna and steam bath get the circulation going. The wellness massage loosens the muscles and stimulates the fasciae. Afterwards, during the regeneration phase in the panorama relaxation room, the view falls on an enchanting landscape that delights both in summer with lush green meadows and fields and in winter with snow-covered trees and monumental mountain ranges.
Lungau specialities such as Lungauer Hasnöhrl or Schöpserne (sheep roast) prove that the culinary pampering programme is in no way inferior to the wellness offers. When the chef and his wife return from the nearby forest and their baskets contain the collected Lungau chanterelles, the guests' mouths water. Otherwise, the hosts serve a lot of homemade and garden-grown food to the holidaymakers, who are happy to help themselves.
Hikes and leisure activities
The Lungau, surrounded by imposing mountain ranges, is famous for its many hiking trails; thus it also attracts many enthusiastic hikers to the region every year. Programmes such as the sunrise hike to the Speiereck followed by a farmer's breakfast are very popular and also much idolised.
Likewise, the Lungau offers an ideal excursion destination for cyclists with the "Tour de Mur" along the Mur Cycle Path. From breathtaking mountain lakes and peaks to old castles and fortresses and customs - the region has it all.
Likewise, in the immediate vicinity of the Landhotel, nestled in the broad Mur valley, lies the "Lungau Golf Course". Although completely flat, it is anything but easy to play. Ponds, biotopes and the Mur river, which has to be crossed twice, make the game extremely exciting. At the Landhotel Stofflerwirt, guests can borrow a golf cart to increase their enjoyment of the game.
Those who love water sports are also well catered for in the Lungau region and can try their hand at rafting, canyoning and canoe and kayak tours on the Mur. Meanwhile, families with kids can let off steam at the "Badeinsel Tamsweg", one of the most modern adventure pools in the country - including a waterfall and an 80-metre-long Black Hole water slide.
WINTER HOLIDAY AND ADVENT ATMOSPHERE
In winter, skiing is a priority. The Lungau is criss-crossed by several large ski areas, first and foremost of course the Obertauern. Two ski areas are located in the direct vicinity of the hotel, 10 minutes away by ski bus, to be exact. A FREE ski bus leaves for the various ski areas every half hour, with the bus stop located directly in front of the Landhotel.
Of course, it is not only friends of downhill skiing who will find a skiing paradise here - the extensive network of cross-country ski trails in the Lungau is just as predestined for cross-country skiers and skaters. And after the winter sports, a ski and boot room with boot dryer is available at the Landhotel.
During the Christmas season, there is a very special treat: the Katschberg Advent Trail. Since its opening in the winter season 2017/2018, the circular trail has been a hit with holidaymakers and locals alike. The Advent Trail consists of 24 lovingly renovated hay barns and huts, with each station dedicated to a different Christmas theme. There is singing, playing and tasting of local delicacies. There is also the option of experiencing the circular trail in a horse-drawn carriage ride, which only adds to the contemplative mood during Advent.
